My Dream Job

At this point in time I don’t have just one dream job. I know I want to be the head of promotions and marketing for a company. I want it to be in the entertainment industry. I would love to work for a radio station, TV station, or production company. I would love to work with various people where I can gain great relationships with people in the industry. I would love to be able to focus in crisis management, event planning, and international public relations.

Since I am interested in working in entertainment I try to stay on top of things that are going on in the entertainment world. I try to keep my portfolio updated with things that can help me stand out with employees. I’m interning now and try to write any chance I get.

Even though publicist aren’t really respected, I would love to be a publicist or an entertainment manager for a client. I would love to get my clients shows and interviews.

I believe that if I work hard and stay on top of my game I will be able to work in the entertainment industry soon enough.

  1. Its funny how most of us PR majors don’t exactly know what our dream job is. I think that is because our field is so vast. I am so jealous that you love to write. I try everyday to make myself love writing, but its not working. I think being a publicist or entertainment manager would be a great way for you to look into international PR, especially if you were working with an international musician/superstar/celebrity!

  2. I think publicists get a bad reputation in the PR world but if you do your job well and get results for your client, you will quickly gain a sparkling reputation. Do you think you will move to LA or New York to be a publicist or stay somewhere closer to home like Atlanta?

  3. If I could represent a celebrity I would love that, but I don’t think I could represent just any celebrity. For instance, I couldn’t represent Charlie Sheen, Lindsey Lohan, and one’s like that. But I would love to represent a celebrity who is genuinely a good person.

  4. I wanted to work in the entertainment industry too! Well until I realized a lot of people in the industry are self-made professionals and that’s annoying. It’s annoying because people like us went to school and been taking internships and working our butts off to compete with somebody who are like Jay-z little cousin and happen inherently have all the connections and prestige.
